Betty Cardiff
Member of the Twentieth Century Club since its creation, a charter member of the Katy Hospital Volunteers for 25 years, involved in the Katy Friendship Garden Club. She had a talent for decorating, and her home was her showcase. She made the holidays truly special, by decorating her house for every season. Other loves of Betty’s were traveling and antiquing. She was an original Round Top shopper from its inception in 1968, and her worldly travels allowed her the opportunity to make some great finds.
Aphrodite Barbatis “Dyckie” O’Shell
a loving mother, wife and grandmother, devoted Catholic, and source of joy and inspiration to all who knew her. She was extremely proud of her Greek heritage which paved the road to many lifelong friendships. She attended the University of Houston, where she pursued a master’s degree in education which began her career as a teacher to students in both Houston and Beaumont.
Albert Weycer
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and his family was the center of his life. He attended the University of Wisconsin, where he met the great love of his life, Judy Ladin. After graduating with a degree in Chemical Engineering, Judy and Al were married in 1956 and moved to Washington, D.C., to attend law school at George Washington University. Eventually moving with his family to Houston, he started his own law firm. He was a highly skilled and competitive tennis player & golfer, and an avid fan and follower of his Wisconsin Badgers, Oilers (then Texans), Astros and Longhorns religiously and when the Texans weren’t winning, he became a Packer fan.
Nathaniel Whittier Emerson
Originally from Indian Hill, OH, Nathaniel ultimately found himself living in Conroe, TX. He was an avid painter who also enjoyed cultivating many different varieties of cacti and succulents. He was a much loved son, brother, cousin, and uncle.
Ettiene Ofsowitz Leibman
Much loved wife and mother, she was originally from Uitenhage, South Africa but eventually found herself coming to Houston. She was an innovative force in the Houston community, and the first to bring in imported cheeses and imported meats when no one in Houston even knew what Brie was.

Her desire to positively impact the city led her to serve selflessly on countless Boards, just a few of which include: MD Anderson Board of Visitors, the Shepherd Society, Rice University's Music School Governing Council, U of H Graduate College of Social Work, Dean's Advisory Council, University of Texas Health Science Center, Governor's Commission for Women, Alley Theater, & the Houston Ballet
